Robin Thirdfloor has been keeping busy this year. He dropped the official visuals for his single Ethekwini off his 2017 album Bhotela. He then collaborated with international act Rootwords on his latest project Warning Signs for a song titled Somdanger Freestyle. He didn’t stop there, he was also featured on RMBO’s Zone 3 EP.
Now he’s back with his own work titled Crazy. The song is about how Robin has never really fitted in anywhere. He explains how he was too soft for the hood and how he was too tough for the burbs. That landed him in the middle and that made him seem like the weird kid or the outcast. Now that he’s a traveled musician, he realises that he wasn’t crazy at all. There’s plenty of people just like him. It’s an easy song to relate to, especially for creative and experimental people who find themselves in the corner cause they’re different or do different things.
From a musical perspective, Robin really challenges his audience. Somdanger has never been shy to experiment with new sounds. Crazy is a different record, produced by Tantrik, it’s very Pop and Dance, not something you’d associate with Hip Hop. Though that does come with the territory of being an experimental artist.
