Cape Town based music man, Yanga YaYa has slowly been growing his musical career. From releasing his first single titled **It Happens and supporting that with awesome visuals shot by Aubrey Ndiweni. The more content Yanga releases the more attention he starts to generate from music lovers in Cape Town and across the country. He also recently collaborated with Durban based Neo-Drum pioneer Garde.
The two released an awesome single titled Appreciation, the two artists continue to collaborate, now on Yanga’s latest single titled Plutonium. This time Garde appears on production credits assisting Beyond, also a Durban based producer and engineer.
On Plutonium, Yanga goes in the direction of a very dance-centric record, which is a completely different sound from the first official single – **It Happens. Both songs will appear on his debut extended play tilted Elements, with executive production handled by electronic producer Muzi.
Yanga explained the meaning and concept of Plutonium when we met the day before the release by saying “Plutonium is used in explosives and can settle in your bones easily, so you have to handle it with care. So that’s how we related it to the story of that song. It’s just like how volatile, you know things can be and at some point if you don’t let go of someone that doesn’t appreciate you. You can explode and implode”.
Being a medical doctor, Yanga tries to marry his musical background with his science background. Stream the dong on Apple Music and watch the dance video that accompanies Plutonium.
