After a while since dropping new music, WTF responds to the demand and cries of their fans by releasing a brand new single – Lowest. We’ve known Witness The Funk for their trappy and braggadocious sound. Like their previous single Volovolo, which was a hypnotising ode to young nigga belligerence with Aux Cable handling the smooth production and Efelow carrying the song, that song proved to be the duos strongest record in a while.

Now the group are back with the same combination from last year’s single – Volovolo. Though this time the approach is a lot less raunchy or smeared in any possible essence of misogyny. They strip down their party-ready demeanour on Lowest, the song is dipped in element of vulnerability, a very different route. It seems that the group is trying to channel their energy to challenge their audience. “Please don’t leave me, while at my lowest” .

The candid direction they take sounds like a step outside their comfort zone, it comes at a time where you would expect something different from WTF – considering the amount of time they’ve been making music. It’s a very different soundscape but it still maintains the 808’s and drums that makes their sound from a production perspective. The best way to sum it is; different. It’s commercial success for now is a mystery.
