Chillwave vocalists and producers are a staple combination in the Indie market worldwide. With collaborative efforts ranging from Alina Baraz & Galimatias, Majid Jordan, Abhi Dijon to Red Robyn & Jaedon Daniel. When the two strike a chord and the chemistry is real, it is often seamless energy on record.

Umkomaas singer, songwriter Vogue may have found her match behind the production boards. U.Beyond is a Durban producer, who’s worked with acts such as Yanga YaYa, Garde and Aewon Wolf. The two artists link up for a collaborative piece titled Glitch. A four-track EP that has only two guest features in Chris Snakes and Garde.

The production on the extended play has a trippy but subtle texture and incorporates sounds that feel like a glitch throughout the project. Vocally Vogue ticks all the necessary boxes when it comes to technical ability and delivery. You can hear that it is a collaborative effort between producer and singer with U.Beyond’s production coming to life on the outro of Glow.

On Run Me Down the features make the project a lot more dynamic, with Chris Snakes verse being the most noteworthy on the project. His candid and innocent style of delivery really stand out, while at the same time the production switches up smoothly and unexpectedly from its opening part, Glitch is SoundCloud music at its best. The third trackĀ Scoop is too short, being 45 seconds long, it sounds like it would’ve been Vogue’s best song on the short tape.

With Glitch being under ten minutes long, it feels like a good sample product of what Vogue & U.Beyond have to offer as a creative duo, even if it is for the short run. Overall it sounds concise, it isn’t too long or too short and does leave you wanting to hear more from them.
