Durban singer, songwriter Rhea Blek has been on a wavelength of her own lately, off the back of her successful debut tape THIIIRD Wav. She has been grabbing the attention of most South African indie music taste makers and it is with no doubt why she has enjoyed such an awesome trajectory with her vibrant aesthetic.

Not so long ago she was the front runner for the new Ford Figo campaign which featured her song Ka Mzolo and that really proved to be a big step in the right direction, especially for an independent act from KwaZulu-Natal’s East Coast. Her latest release was a guest appearance on Get Away by IV & Neptune for their first installment of SoundCloud Sundays.

Now Rhea’s back with her own effort, dropping a brand new single titled Mona Phansi, she explains the the theme of single being “about people hating on your hustle”. With the traction she’s been gaining lately, it’s bound to be accompanied by some degree of hate. The Neo Ndawo produced song is assisted by Loki, the Durban rapper makes the most of his appearance and adds some dynamism to the radio friendly single. Mona Phansi sounds different from her THIIIRD Wav extended play but it still sounds like Rhea Blek just with a more Pop feel.
