Anatii surprised almost everyone with the creative direction of Iyeza. His latest offering was a completely different sound and was targeted to a brand new audience. The World music album boasted very little Hip Hop elements, the aesthetic was very deep rooted in Xhosa culture, which was overwhelming for plenty.
The album did receive a positive reception and it came as no surprise based on the success similar taste makers have had, namely Sjava, Mlindo and a few more.
That’s not to say Anatii didn’t pay homage to his Hip Hop society, Iyeza could never fall under the genre. On songs like Thixo Onofefe and Ntloni, they’re club bangers from start to finish and for the latter Anatii has accompanied it with official visuals.
