Breeze has slowly been making his ascendance in the South African Hip Hop space, he’s always been in the conversation as far as the hip hop scene is concerned in Durban. Now with a serious attempt to go national, Breeze has collaborated with VW and composed the new Polo commercial musical score, with his song Phambili.
Now The Zulu Bass King finally drops the much anticipated single Jaiva Afrika assisted by Rouge. With ample amount of promotion on social media, it was inevitable that a fair share of people wanted to hear it. The dance oriented song explores elements of Hip Hop and at times seems to crossover a little bit to the EDM, Dance Hall and House sector.
Breeze takes an approach of having Rouge on his hook instead, even though it’s winter; the jam sounds like a summer time song. On the opening bars Breeze does admit that he’s on the rise and the vibe is different for him now. On the topic of what the song is meant to do – which is actually make you dance. Breeze and Rouge managed to translate the message very well. If you really love dance music, this one is definitely for you. It’s a perfect song for radio and perfect for dancing. Jaiva Afrika could also feature on Breeze’s Debut Album which should drop this year.
