J Molley has been very consistent since dropping his debut project, dropping visuals for Never Know off Dreams Money Can Buy, he then followed that up with visuals for his single Seven Bottles. So there hasn’t been a shortage of his work to sample lately. With his sound being a huge staple on the internet, there seems to be no rest for the wicked.
His latest single Always Stressed, layered with dark vocals and production. The Hood Pharmacist takes us through a journey of trust issues, lust and nightlife filled with the cold aesthetic of narcotics indulgence “sometimes I drink until I’m numb, cause I just feel too much”. Molley touches on his lavish fashion and spending habits, name dropping Virgil Abloh’s Off-White and drinking Hennessy. But what really makes the main idea of the song is the narrative of him breaking up with a girl and how she can never have anything or anyone better then him “I wish you the best but bitch I am the best”. He heavily explores the idea of being constantly stressed and that’s where the song lends it’s name – Always Stressed.
J Molley has managed to really become comfortable with his soundscape, with improved melodies and cadence, Always Stressed is a sound in his forte and comfort zone. His consistence has been a vital component to his trajectory in his music career so far.
