Eastern Cape duo Darkie Fiction collaborated with Trace Southern Africa and Gauteng Film Commission to knit together the documentary titled Little America.

Directed by Yoza Mnyanda, who is a filmmaker and one half of Darkie Fiction. The documentary is based on the state of the South African music industry and its very identity. It touches on the beginning of Kwaito to now having Hip Hop as the most influential genre in the country. Our music industry being American influenced. It also dives into the South African Indie culture and the possible reasons behind the lack of support it has in South Africa.

The documentary features various South African artists, such as Nadia Nakai, DJ Speedsta, DJ Sliqe, J Molley, Robin Thirdfloor, Stiff Pap, Zola 7 and more. Narrated by Darkie Fiction, they take us through the various topics and spark the conversation.
