Durban’s most promising Trappers link up for “End Zone”, with rising star Blxckie tapping frequent collaborator Slim Ego. The two have previously teased the record on social media and it finally hit the net on Friday. The two rappers croon back and forth over a Phoenixbeats piece production.

Blxckie has really been the one to keep an eye on in the Durban music scene. His popularity and internet clout has been steadily growing as he consistently puts out records like a fast fashion factory. You find the rapper and producer offering his talents to a lot of Durban artists through features and he can’t help but stand out. Though a matter of quality control is one to question, Blxckie still enjoys the freedom to hop on records with whoever he wants to.

On “End Zone”, it’s Blxckie and Slim Ego – who is also another promising act that recently found himself in a bit of controversy recently. The two trappers pour out their hearts on wax. End Zone is a mixture of midnight vulnerability and toxic love. It’s a cold game of who loves who more, “she thinks she loves me more than I love her and I think that’s beautiful” Blxckie sings to a girl who clearly belongs to the street as he continues to sing “I feel like you’re not focused, you’re going down the wrong road”. It is the perfect recipe for disaster in the “End Zone”.

The record is wrapped up by Slim Ego’s bridge and hook, overall this is a really good record from the two acts and it is indicative of the Hip Hop talent that still exists in Durban, it’s just a matter of finding those few diamonds in a place filled with a ton of dirt.
