Muzi has probably had the coolest build up to his sophomore album AFROViSiON. Dropping next month on the 11th of May 2018. In the process Muzi released a five episode podcast titled Muzi Mondays, on each episode he’d drop a brand new song which samples a classic South African song, from artists such as Brenda Fassie and Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse. All five episodes were released for free on Youtube.
He’s also collaborated with Spree and dropped a lyric video for Sweet Chocolate, a song which features the Venda popstar Una Rams and Saint Seaba from Nigeria. He later dropped the colourful visuals for Chocolate Dreams a few weeks after. Not stopping there he also gave us the visuals for Desire, his collaboration with long time friend Yanga Madlala
Now he’s back with a lyric video for his latest single Nu Day which features the Durban native OKMALUMKOOLKAT. Nu Day is a smooth Afro-Pop and Dance jam, “it’s a nu day and you’re invited, to live your best life”. The song encapsulates the upbeat production we know Muzi for, OKMALUMKOOLKAT comes through with his smooth flow and bodies it. Though the hook and production are the best parts of the song. We should also be expecting the music video for the song to be dropping soon as Muzi posted on Instagram the behind the scenes images. Make sure to pre-order AFROViSiON.
