Durban duo IV & Neptune tap Chris Snakes for Super Mario. The collaboration between the duo and Snakes was always inevitable with the three rappers evidently moving in the same circle on the East Coast shores. Not so long ago David and Andii ran a full-court press with their SoundCloud Sundays releases. While Chris, on the other hand, has been heavily promoting his latest single with Garde and Palmtree June tilted Why and has been doing pretty well on the net.

Super Mario isn’t the best coming from the duo but it has its moments, like Andii IV shouting out producer Muzi on the first few lines of his verse “I’m the reason you’d go to Muzi over Kaytranada”. How he manoeuvres throughout his verse is a very tasteful part of the single. While David Neptune handles the hook, Chris Snakes is in at the end to breathe his presence on the record.

Overall the song is okay and I have to say I expected more from one of the most promising group of artists in Durban. Again not every single is meant to be a spectacle but when you see the names on a song title you always have a set of expectations and that’s only based on the work they’ve put out prior.
